Rules

Runners have 15.0 hours to complete the 55 mile race.

The route will be marked where I think runners may miss a post although if runners are unfamiliar with the route, the map mentioned in the map section on the right is the most accurate. Any deviation from the route may lead to disqualification.

Runners must pass through the checkpoints within the stated time limits, and must carry any items that the Race Director states may be needed for their safety.

You must check in & out with the marshall at each Checkpoint.

Any runner leaving Enochdhu after 20:00hrs may be ‘paired up’ with another.

This is a SAL permitted race under hill race rules, thus no walking sticks/poles or other aids are permitted.

NO PACERS OR BUDDY RUNNERS ALLOWED and no dogs.

The race has a drop bag service at 6 checkpoints and water will be provided. Runners are NOT permitted a support crew. If your family or friends want to see you in the race, the only checkpoints they should go to are Glenisla or Blairgowrie.

Cut offs for 55 mile runners are Blairgowrie by 14:30 and Enochdu 20:00.

Any runner who in the opinion of any Race Marshall or Medic is regarded as unfit to continue will be withdrawn from the race. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.

Running unsupported, please be sensible and carry the basic essentials! Yes I know you are a hardcore ultra runner but 55 miles is a long way and the weather may change. The last section is the most remote and the toughest bit. A waterproof jacket, headtorch and a food supply to keep you going between the drop bags please. The marshalls at the last checkpoint will check to make sure you are equipped and able for the last 6 mile slog over the big hill.

IT’S LIGHTWEIGHT AND TAKES UP HARDLY ANY SPACE SO YOU MUST CARRY THE MOST SIMPLEST OF SAFETY ITEMS, A SPACE BLANKET!

Be sensible and look out for the safety of your fellow runners too.      In bad weather all runners may have to ‘Pair Up’ at any stage at the discretion of the race director.

COVID 19

We will be following the Covid guidelines for events as issued by Scottish Athletics who provide our permit and insurance. This might mean face coverings at the start, finish and checkpoints. We might also have to start the race in waves. It is likely that we will have to advise competitors not to bring any friends, family etc to spectate. We will advise competitors nearer race day so be prepared.

Rules may be added if and when circumstances arise –  it is for your own safety!
